FAQ

Questions before we roll.

Do I have to be home the whole time?

No. Someone should show us the pile and confirm the price. After that you can get out of the way.

How fast can you get to Oneonta and nearby towns?

Same-week for most jobs. Same-day when the truck is already nearby. Mid-May student move-out books up first.

How do quotes work?

Email or use the form. Name, what’s leaving, town or ZIP, and photos if you have them. The locked price is contingent on an in-person evaluation — then we load.

Do you come inside the house?

Yes. Garage, attic, basement, upstairs — if we can walk it out safely, we haul it. You don’t have to move it to the curb.

What won’t you take?

Wet paint, solvents, fuels, oils, pesticides, antifreeze, medical waste, sharps, leftover medicine, friable asbestos, propane tanks, old safes, and anything leaking. Otsego County’s Household Hazardous Waste Day — typically August — is the legal path for most chemicals.

Can you take a TV, computer, or monitor?

Yes. We can take TVs, computers, and monitors — they have to be recycled. New York doesn’t let them go in the trash. Mention them on the quote and we’ll handle the recycle drop.

What about a fridge or air conditioner?

We can haul it. Refrigerant has to be recovered legally. Those jobs are quoted as such. We do not vent Freon.

Do you take leaves?

Yes — bagged leaves and other green waste when we have a legal drop. Ask first and we’ll confirm before we book. We don’t cut trees down. Outdoor furniture, grills, and storm leftovers we haul the same way.

How do you price a job?

In person, by the job. Every pile is different — stairs, weight, how far we’re hauling. We look at it, give you a number, and lock it before we load. There isn’t a rate card on this site.

Do you donate or recycle?

When an item is still usable and a local outfit will take it — Otsego ReUse, Salvation Army, and similar — we donate. Recyclables stay separated under county law. Residual waste goes to county-designated facilities. The dump is last.

What towns do you serve?

Oneonta 13820, then Cooperstown, Milford, Otego, Unadilla, Worcester, Laurens, Schenevus, and surrounding areas within reason. Outside that? Send the town.

How do I reach you?

Request a quote, text, or email. Call or text (607) 405-7060, email bearjunksolutions@gmail.com, or use the form.

Can you take a single item?

Yes. One couch, a piano, or a whole-house cleanout. If it fits in the trailer and it’s legal to haul, it can leave.

Do I need to take apart furniture, sheds, or hot tubs?

Usually no. Tell us about stairs, tight access, or anything still hooked up when you request the quote.
